Relax on this lunch-time cruise along the historic Murray River aboard the Proud Mary. Gain an insight into this unique river system with its magnificent landscapes, birdlife and river views.
Itinerary
The Murray River Highlights tour departs Adelaide and travels to the mighty Murray River. On your arrival in Mannum, board the Proud Mary and relax as you cruise the historic river enjoying the wildlife and surrounding scenery.
Over the 1 hour 45 minute cruise you will enjoy a delicious 2 course lunch on board the Proud Mary as you sit back and take in the stunning scenery. Learn about the history of the river and gain an insight into the river’s ecological system from informative commentary as you cruise.
Upon disembarking, enjoy a tour along the riverbank of the Murray River taking in spectacular views and stopping regularly for great photo opportunities, including the Mannum Lookout.
Travel back to Adelaide via the delightful Adelaide Hills, stopping in Woodside at Melba’s Chocolate Factory where you can purchase afternoon tea (at own expense), or you may wish to make a shop visit to Woodside Cheese Wrights to pick up some souvenir treats to take home.

Enjoy a relaxed small-group wine tour to McLaren Vale, combining boutique cellar doors, local stories and some of South Australia’s most beautiful coastal scenery.
Your day begins with a scenic coastal drive south of Adelaide, showcasing the stunning beaches of the Fleurieu Peninsula — a favourite highlight for many guests and the perfect introduction to this world-class wine region.
While McLaren Vale is famous for its rich Shiraz, you’ll also discover a diverse range of varietals including Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Fiano, Vermentino, Tempranillo, and Sangiovese. Many wineries embrace organic and biodynamic practices, adding authenticity to every glass.
Our first winery visit is Maxwell Wines, one of McLaren Vale’s most iconic family-owned producers. Here you’ll enjoy a guided wine tasting featuring their renowned reds, with the opportunity to also sample their unique honey mead, made on site and loved by visitors looking to try something a little different.
Next, we visit Haselgrove Wines, a boutique cellar door known for its innovative style and premium small-batch wines, offering a wonderful contrast in flavour and winemaking approach.
Lunch is enjoyed at Richard Hamilton Wines, where you’ll relax over a regional platter lunch showcasing local produce, paired with a wine tasting overlooking the vineyards. On weekends, lunch may be hosted at Hugo Wines, an equally popular McLaren Vale venue, ensuring a consistently high-quality dining experience. Dietary needs can be accommodated with prior notice.
In the afternoon, we continue to Shottesbrooke Wines, a respected organic and biodynamic winery, producing elegant wines that beautifully reflect the character of the region — a fitting way to finish the day.
As a small, locally operated tour, winery visits may vary depending on availability and group size. When required, we substitute with outstanding McLaren Vale cellar doors such as Oliver’s Taranga or Mollydooker, maintaining the same boutique focus and quality experience.

Your Taste the Barossa bus will pick you up at one of our many pick-up locations around Glenelg or Adelaide. Relax and enjoy expert commentary from one of our knowledgeable tour guides as you head off on your Barossa Valley adventure. Travel the scenic route through the beautiful Adelaide Hills as you enjoy some information and humour along the way. Look out for Kangaroos, and Emu’s and marvel at the changing landscape as we approach the Barossa Valley.

We are incredibly lucky to enjoy our first tasting experience in their amazing wine making facility, surrounded by huge wine vats affectionately named after their family members. Our next stop is the historic country town of Tanunda. Here you can amble along the high street, browse in the local shops, or grab yourself a coffee, and have a relaxing 20 mins of watching the world go by.
From Tanunda it’s onto the very beautiful and iconic Turkey Flat Vineyards. Once again, a passionate family-owned winery with a proud history dating back to 1847. Here we enjoy a wonderful, structured tasting before settling down to an incredible regional platter lunch of the highest quality. Made up of local meats, fresh breads, cheeses, pate and an assortment of other local delights, this is the perfect lunch during a day of wine tasting. There are also vegetarian, vegan and gluten free platters if you need. There’s no rushing your meal, with ample time to enjoy some good company and get to know your fellow travellers.
We head now to Menglers Hill lookout for a view and a half! Check out the Valley, see where you’ve been and where you’re heading.
Our 3rd Cellar door is a real gem of the Barossa; the stunning Rosenvale Vineyards, owned and operated by the 6th generation Rosenzweig family. The passion is palpable as Rosenvale’s hosts invite you to indulge in a sensational wine tasting experience. Against the backdrop of the vineyard, this picture-perfect setting will certainly delight as you taste wines produced by the very vines that surround you. World Class is an understatement!
Finally, a scenic drive through Seppeltsfield will round off your perfect Barossa adventure, with time to grab a photo of the iconic Date Palms, learn about their fascinating origin, and the iconic Seppeltsfield legacy. Time now to sit back, listen to some quiet music and watch the scenery go by, or perhaps close your eyes for a quick nap, as we express back to Adelaide CBD for approximately 5:30pm and the finish of your perfect Barossa Adventure.

You will receive a booking confirmation within 48 hours. Please do not book flights until your booking has been confirmed
The remaining balance is due 45 days before departure. If your booking is made within 45 days of departure, the balance will be due once your trip has been confirmed.

Cancellations made more than 14 days before departure will receive a refund less the deposit payment and card fees.
Cancellations made within 14 days of departure may incur additional supplier charges.
